Reflections on The Book of Hebrews

So after attending one session on the Book of Hebrews at our church's Sunday School class for adults, have been making my way through the book and just blown away by what's in there from a doctrinal standpoint but also just from a God speaking through me by His Holy Spirit standpoint!  Here are some key verses that are famous and not so famous that have really stood out to me:

Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. (Hebrews 12:14 NIV)

This just flies in the face of so many Christians that twist the whole freedom in Christ notion to justify their justification in Christ Jesus to do whatever they please to suit their fancy and desires.  Be holy, without holiness no one will see The Lord!  This also reminds me of this Scripture:

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. (Matthew 5:8 NIV)

And another one:

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:6 NIV)

But more to come on that one, the idea is to keep seeking after Him because:

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. (Hebrews 11:1 NIV)

God Bless y'all!
